| El Capitan
After ten years of ignoring this section of the layout, El Capitan
stopped by to take a look to see the progress of Williams Arizona. This
is the "Gate Way to the Grand Canyon" and some large buildings
are going up in anticipation of it being a tourist boom town. I placed Tufts
of cotton under a few cars to represent steam purging from the heating system.
This gives me an idea to use real steam that is piped in between the rails
and turned on for a scene such as this.
In actuality, I build kits and structures that suit my whimsical moods
and just plop many of them in any area they fit. Then down the road, I shift
them to different locations sometimes to build a scene for the camera as
you see above. All locations have a name representing a town along the Santa
Fe Railroad in parts of Arizona and New Mexico for train operations only. |
