According to the news reports from Prescott early this week, (July 05) this ex Santa Fe ? dinning car was charred in a ground fire set by a homeless person. I happened to be in town today (5/13/05) and took this picture. It's possible that the other end of the car has damage as a restaurant building is built up against it and it suffered sever damage. The brush was so thick there that I could not see that part. The water flowing over the wet crossing of Granite Creek is about ankle deep. Just think, some folks assume Arizona is only desert. This portion of the Santa Fe (Peavine) was abandoned about 45 years ago from here to Skull Valley.
